Fair Credit Reporting Act
A federal law enacted in 1970, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) regulates the use of your information by consumer reporting agencies. The FCRA was significantly amended in the late 1990s as well as in the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) of 2003. The FCRA protects your sensitive credit information by limiting who can access it and how your information can be used.
